The Veteran Short Film Project

ArtsUP! LA, in partnership with Veterans Empowerment Theatre is launching a new initiative to support veteran storytellers—combining a screenwriting workshop with the full production of one selected short film.

Phase One – Writers’ Workshop (Completed)
Ten veteran writers completed a six-week short-film workshop led by professional mentors. From these finished scripts, one screenplay was selected for production.

Phase Two – Director Search (Now Open)
We’re seeking one veteran director to helm the selected screenplay. The director will participate in prep, production, and post-production with guidance from ArtsUP! LA and industry mentors.
