After a highly successful inaugural run in 2024, The Letters Project returns—deeper, more powerful, and more urgent than ever.

For the past six months, ArtsUP! LA’s Veterans Empowerment Theatre and Returning Soldiers Speak have been gathering and curating real letters written by veterans to loved ones—messages from the front-lines that carry the hopes, fears, reflections, and humanity of those who served, from the Revolutionary War through Iraq and Afghanistan.

These are not just stories of war—they are stories of connection, memory, and the lasting impact of service on families and identity. Created and performed by veteran playwrights drawing from lived experience, this production brings unmatched authenticity to the stage.
